What happens to what you send
Last updated October 18, 2026
Who is responsible
Diba Patent Practice is the practice of Ali Mohammadabadi, PhD, a registered U.S. patent agent in Laurel, Maryland. I am responsible for what happens to the information you send through this site.
What I collect
When you send the form, I receive what you type: your name and email, your phone and organization if you give them, the kind of idea, whether it has been shown or offered for sale, and your short description.
If you email me or book a call, I receive what you send and the details you enter when booking.
Like any website, the servers that deliver this site briefly record technical details of each visit, such as your IP address and browser type, to keep the site running and secure. I do not use them to identify you.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not set its own cookies and does not use analytics, advertising trackers, or social-media pixels. The hosting provider may set a cookie that is strictly necessary to protect the site from automated attacks.
If I ever add analytics or advertising tools, I will update this page first.
How I use it
Only to reply to you, to check that I have no conflict with another client, to decide whether I can take the work, and, if you become a client, to do that work and keep the records the USPTO rules require.
I do not sell or rent your information, and I do not add you to a mailing list.
Who else handles it
These services handle your information only to provide their service to me:
- Cloudflare hosts this site and delivers the form to my inbox.
- Google stores my email (Gmail) and runs the booking calendar.
I do not share your information with anyone else unless you ask me to, or the law requires it.
Confidentiality
What you tell me about your idea stays confidential, even if I do not take the work. Sending the form does not make me your patent agent, so share the general idea, not every technical detail, until we have talked.
Please do not send export-controlled technical data, such as military or other controlled technology, until I have agreed in writing to receive it.
How long I keep it
If you do not become a client, I keep only what I need to check for future conflicts: your name, the names of others involved, and a one-line description of the subject. I delete the rest of your inquiry within 12 months, or sooner if you ask.
If you become a client, I keep your file for as long as the matter is open and afterward for as long as the USPTO rules and my professional obligations require. Records of client funds are kept for at least five years after the work ends.
How I protect it
The site is served only over an encrypted connection. Your information is kept in accounts that only I can open, protected with two-step sign-in.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct, or delete what you sent me. I will do so, except for what I must keep for conflict checks or to meet a legal or professional obligation.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect information from them. A young inventor should contact me with a parent or guardian.
Links to other sites
This site links to Google Patents, news articles, and other sites. Their privacy practices are their own.
Changes
If I change how I handle information, I will update this page and the date at the top.
